1/24s are the major cars used for competitive slot-car racing on commercial tracks. These serious cars turn your basement track space into a racecar garage and get you and your cars out into the world of competition. 1/24 racers study modification (as one racer puts it, it doesn't matter what the car looks like to start--that's going to change). The challenges of 1/24 racing are matters of aerodynamics and road-hugging as well as weight and speed. Spoilers and wings predominate, turning some models into racer bodies resembling rockets or airplanes more than cars.
